SUNDAY TIMES
This is for all u guys past and present for whom this day of our monotonous week holds such a high stead. The real sun used to rise on Sundays and in mmc the SUN never used to set.In our MMC Saturday evenings used to herald the oncoming. The plan used to start in KUMARA’S tea shop whose constant supply of" sugary hot tea flavoured water" still appears to this day as the best liquid down our gutters {magic druid} .This was the the time when we were still in our younger TERMS ,when we had no plans in life ,we all followed the same protocol.Elaborate plans for Sunday were laid down ,each one tailored their own .The penreys "naale chicken thina ke hogana ..ILAPUR illa andre REGENT"Then there were the CELLAR BOYS for whom Sunday was just the 7th day of any week ,full of laziness, fun and night out at dhaba and drunken driving on their bikes. The types of NS did nothing to justify this day either ,his morning used to start at afternoon and night used to come the next day’s early morning,THE DAY FILLED WITH LOITERING AROUND HOSTEL CORRIDORS,STARING TREES Above kumara’s shop in search of some obscure Darwinian Galapagos kind of bird or birds,he always had this talent or intent to SPOT something in between the branches when lesser souls just used to see the sun flicker behind the branches and leaves;of course he always used to forget his PRIZED binoculars.’chakli ,chai and wills were his temptations.BUT THAT DID,NT DISTRACT the likes of KASHI,shama, chidu ,dinga, kasma,bd,girisha…whose sole intent on Sundays was to rise early and catch the glimpse of that forever evading 7;30 am PIECE.kashi WAS THE epitome of beautification who detected the BEHOLDER in each thing ,female or feminine………he should be beatified acc to mmc standards.WE still miss his "gone there seen that "reports and post Sunday feast mucching .well I used to look out early morning for the asian age supplement as it used to be really an EYEOPENER.For all of us who survived our entrance days in MMC every day was a Sunday except we used to read more of supplements ,weekly shampoo bath and ajji bondas.Time passed on ,we came to know more about the BIRDS and BEES of life but still today Sunday is as important though the context has changed EACH ONE CELEBRATES IT ALONE.We never hear the echoes of"SMARTY" IN OUR NEW CORRIDORS…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… (written on a nostalgic Saturday night in deserted floors of Pg hostel )
